Concordia University Law School
Greetings -
Thank you for your interest in the proposed Concordia University School of Law. I am excited about the prospect that Concordia University may fill an unmet need in the Treasure Valley.
As a resident of Idaho for more than two decades, and an active participant in the law community, I know, first-hand, the need for quality law education that exists in this region. Concordia University, located in Portland, Oregon, has a 104-year track record of providing high quality, service focused, Lutheran, liberal arts education and is well suited to bring this model of transformative leadership to Boise by establishing a law school. There is great demand in Boise to provide part- and full-time legal education to working professionals and other place-bound residents. There is also a need to serve graduates from across the Pacific Northwest and the entire country, including those who have degrees from other Concordia Universities and Lutheran universities nation-wide. Having a private option for legal education in Boise ensures that, no matter the economic condition of the state and the city, there will be a privately funded option, whose program offerings are distinctive from other regional options.
This year, we will have a more formal timetable established and will be able to fill in many of the questions that you may have. Until then, I hope that you will sign up to receive additional communication regarding our progress.
Thank you for your interest in our School of Law.
Sincerely,
Cathy R. Silak, J.D., LL.M.
Dean
