Success to Significance

Schlimpert Photo Dear Friends,

Our journey from Success to Significance has gained tremendous momentum as we opened the doors to the George R. White Library & Learning Center, and celebrated the completion of the Campus Green, the L. Geraldine White Campanile, and the Concordia Place Apartments—our new residence hall.

Faculty, staff, students and community members have already discovered what a wonderful resource the library and new green space are. Cafe 1905 has become a social hub, the classrooms are in full use, people are utilizing our academic centers, and we have given out hundreds of free library cards to the community.

Concordia's tremendous growth (we now enroll more than 1900 students) has led us to expand, and our Lutheran heritage drives us to do more to serve our community. The George R. White Library & Learning Center not only provides increased academic space for students, faculty, and staff; it also serves as an important resource for the neighborhood.

The new 74,000 square-foot facility combines traditional library spaces, classrooms, a café, and important centers for learning. With no public library in the neighborhoods surrounding Concordia, the Library & Learning Center also serves the community with free library cards, free access to computers, and a meeting room dedicated to community use.

The changes are truly a sight to behold. And just as the dust has settled after more than a year of construction, we are looking to our next project—a state-of-the-art athletic complex for baseball and soccer. The new complex will offer something for everyone, including student athletes, Cavalier fans, and the community.

I invite you to browse through these pages and watch the exciting changes taking shape. God has truly blessed this institution, and with your help, we will continue to grow and serve.
